SLS Community Forum · Meeting of October 14, 2026

Littleton's Shaker Lane school project team told a community forum the new building remains on track for a September 2029 opening. Superintendent Michael Kyra, architect Merrilee Mercy of Studio G Architects, and Gilbane construction managers walked roughly two dozen residents through site plans calling for about 115 parking spaces, accessible rubber playground surfacing, and a bus entrance relocated along Shaker Lane. The existing baseball field goes offline starting July 1, 2027, for a geothermal well field drilled roughly 600 feet deep, and is not expected back in use until fall 2029; new fields built under a later demolition phase likely won't be playable until around 2030.

"That will be impactful to the town," one resident, speaking for Littleton Youth Baseball and Softball, said of the closure. No sidewalks are planned along Shaker Lane itself.
