The joint Select Board and Finance Committee meeting reviewed departmental budgets including a revised school request of 0.48 percent increase ($125,000), Police Department budget of $2.9 million after handling 20,432 calls for service annually, and Fire Department budget of $3.1 million including a proposal to reclassify lieutenants to captains. The boards voted unanimously to approve a $158,000 renovation of Town Hall's second floor and approved capital funding including fire engine replacement ($1.4 million), ambulance replacement ($525,000), and Department of Public Works excavator purchase ($200,000).
