Select Board and Finance Committee hear FY27 budget presentations

Finance Committee · Meeting of February 4, 2026

LITTLETON — Eight departments present FY27 budgets to Littleton boards. The joint Select Board and Finance Committee meeting heard requests from Conservation (approximately $143,000 for plant and lake management, with Community Preservation Committee and warrant-article alternatives discussed), Board of Health ($10,000 increase for professional services, with a $450 membership funding request deferred to Saturday), Cemetery ($215,616), Veterans Agent ($33,682), Parks/Recreation (reporting $740,000 in revolving reserves), Town Administrator (down $8,000), and Counsel (level-funded at $280,000). Resident Gary Wilson said smaller departments bore disproportionate cuts and urged the board to examine larger budgets more carefully.
