Littleton balances FY27 budget after resolving $1.5 million deficit. Finance Committee Chair Steve Venuti announced that the town had closed a $1.5 million initial deficit through $600,000 in school department cuts, comparable town department reductions, and health insurance plan renegotiation, achieving a budget funded 1.8 percent below the prior year. The balanced budget defers approximately $6 million in Parks and Recreation capital projects to FY28 and FY29.
Public commenter Rob Rounce flagged concerns about long-term deficits, noting FY26 and FY28 projections at $3.6 million and $6.6 million respectively. Subsequent budget meetings with department heads are scheduled for January 21, with budget finalization on February 7.
