Littleton Conservation Commission approves Forge Pond invasive species treatment plan unanimously. The board approved a multi-year herbicide treatment program using ProcellaCOR to target approximately 60 acres of Eurasian milfoil and 24 acres of Variable milfoil at Forge Pond. Conservation Agent Tim Pearson noted that an intertown agreement with Westford is nearly finalized, allowing Littleton to access Westford's existing contract with SOlitude Lake Management.
Dave Barr of the Clean Lakes Committee presented the plan, explaining that ProcellaCOR is a systemic, EPA-approved herbicide lasting several years, with a possible secondary contact treatment using flumioxazin pending available funding.
