LITTLETON — January 28, 2026 — Littleton Select Board and Finance Committee raise Council on Aging recreation fund cap and close in executive session on health insurance bargaining. The joint boards voted unanimously at their January 28 budget meeting to raise the fiscal year 2026 Council on Aging recreation revolving fund spending ceiling from $20,000 to $60,000, after Director of Elder and Human Services Liz told both bodies that expenses had already reached $35,000 on the strength of more than 2,000 programs run in just seven months from the new Shattuck Street senior center — a 132 percent attendance jump over the same month one year earlier. Facilities Director Eric Durba flagged a looming capital need at 36 King Street, where roughly 15 of 18 HVAC units date to 1993 and a Green Communities hybridization grant period has expired, requiring a new application; he also reported a $7,000 LED conversion at Town Hall already producing an estimated $3,000 in annual electricity savings. Town Planner Aaron Toth Hill said the first large apartment building application at the 550 King Street development was expected the following day, with Planning Board review estimated at roughly four months per application.
