Library board signals acceptance of budget cuts

Board of Library Trustees · Meeting of January 8, 2026

Littleton library board signals it can accept proposed town budget cuts if they remain temporary. Library Director Sam Alvarez met with town officials on the FY27 budget, which the town finance director said has been balanced through proposed library cuts. Alvarez will present the library's budget request to the Finance Committee and Select Board next week.

The board indicated it will accept the reductions provided they remain temporary rather than recurring. Additionally, the board learned it may limit room requests from problem groups and will update its room request policy accordingly.
