Finance, Select Boards review FY27 budget amid deficit pressures

LITTLETON — Finance and Select Boards jointly review $77.52M FY27 budget amid town deficit pressures. School Committee Chair Justin McCarthy announced the School Department reduced its increase request from 2.75 percent ($725,000) to 0.48 percent ($125,000) through one-time funding sources. Police Chief Matthew Pinard reported 20,432 calls for service, including 2,883 emergency 911 calls.
Fire Chief Steele McCurdy requested $3,065,415 and noted the department has operated with one ambulance since June 2025. The Select Board voted 5-0 to approve $158,000 for a Town Hall second-floor renovation.
