Deputy Chief Jeffery Patterson Retires After 24 Years With Littleton Police
Deputy Chief Jeffery Patterson Retirement Ceremony · Meeting of September 1, 2026
Littleton police say goodbye to Deputy Chief Jeffery Patterson after 24 years. Patterson, who joined the department as a part-time reserve officer in 1999 under then-Chief John Kelly before going full time in 2002, retired Tuesday after also serving this year as interim police chief following Chief Matt Pinard's retirement. Patterson's daughter, Nicole, a 10-year Southbridge police officer, told her father it "has been an honor of a lifetime to follow in your footsteps." Colleagues presented Patterson with a plaque marking "24 years of dedicated service to the town of Littleton, June 2002 to September 2026" and retired the department flag that flew during his term as interim chief.
Patterson, married to his wife, Susan, for 35 years, closed his remarks with a simple credo: "family comes first always."
