LITTLETON — Conservation Commission closes Long Lake management hearing after straw-polling nine alternatives for docks and public access. The Commission unanimously approved a restoration plan for 359 King Street featuring a 3-to-1 tree replacement ratio and three-year monitoring period. At two Blood Road properties, the Commission ordered third-party peer reviews to estimate unauthorized dredging volumes and scheduled site visits for March 28, with proceedings continuing to April 7.
Conservation Agent Tim Pearson reported that the state Environmental Protection Agency recommended the peer-review approach. No binding votes were taken on the Long Lake shoreline alternatives; the straw polls will inform future coordination with the Select Board.
