Committee Seeks Ideas on King Street Crosswalk Safety

LITTLETON — Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee gathers input on King Street crosswalk safety. The committee, chaired by Jonathan Isaac, met to discuss interim improvements at the King Street and Goldsmith Street intersection following a recent vehicle-pedestrian incident. Town traffic engineer Corrine Tobias and residents including bicyclist David Hayward and cyclist Joanne Derry proposed solutions including enhanced signage, rectangular rapid flashing beacons, reduced crossing lengths, and traffic pattern adjustments, while a long-term redesign is planned as part of the 550 King Street Common Project.
