LITTLETON — Clean Lakes Committee advances invasive species management program. The committee, chaired by John Folsom, approved prior minutes and launched its 2026 water quality testing program across Forge Pond, Spectacle Pond, and Long Lake with testing conducted by the Littleton Water Department and Conservation Department. The primary action item is an herbicide treatment of Forge Pond scheduled for the week of July 6, applying ProcellaCOR to approximately 70 acres under a contract between Westford and SOlitude Lake Management, with Littleton and Westford finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding on funding.
The committee also advanced invasive species removal in Beaver Brook, where European water chestnuts were identified, with permitting underway.
