Charter Committee removes meeting cancellation clause, plans board restructuring

Littleton Charter Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026

Littleton Charter Committee removes meeting cancellation clause and advances board restructuring proposal. In a detailed charter review, the committee removed a proposed cancellation clause for fall town meeting and advanced a proposal to reduce elected board positions from 14 to 11, with assessors, cemetery, trust fund, and some board of health members moving to appointed status. The restructuring came from a comprehensive spreadsheet presented by member Karen McCloskey.

The committee scheduled a February 28 public forum (10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Town Hall Room 103) to gather community input on the proposed changes.
