The committee voted 6-3 to recommend making the Town Clerk appointed, but board members Gary Wilson and Matthew Nordhaus opposed, citing the need for democratic independence and checks on executive power.

The committee voted unanimously to recommend appointing the Board of Health, but Nordhaus argued the regulatory body should remain elected as a check on the Select Board.
