Charter Committee finalizes governance provisions nearing Select Board

Littleton Charter Committee nears completion with recall, review provisions finalized. Chair Betsy Bohling said the committee is in the closing stretch of its work with the draft charter to reach the Select Board in the near future. The committee lowered the recall petition signature threshold from 25 to 15 percent of registered voters, set the initial affidavit threshold at 2 percent of registered voter population, and replaced precinct-based requirements with a total voter threshold.
The committee also established a mandatory 10-year periodic charter review requirement, with benchmark years ending in "6." Seven members were present; Timothy Goddard was absent.
