Littleton Housing Trust explores sale model for Durkee Farmhouse Project. Chair Marianne Heer said the Trust would move forward with reconsidering the approximately $500,000 property as a direct sale rather than the 99-year lease model recommended by Massachusetts Housing Partnership. Member Mark Rambacher proposed selling the land to Habitat for Humanity at no cost, with Habitat repaying the Trust through a $500,000 mortgage to be forgiven upon project completion.

Town Council member Tom Harrington advised that while 99-year leases offer long-term control, they require the Trust to act as landlord managing enforcement; a sale would transfer property management to the developer while preserving affordability standards through deed restrictions.
